Guar Introduction:

Guar gum, also known as Guaran, is extracted from the seeds of the leguminous plant Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub. from the Leguminosae family. This resilient crop thrives in the arid and semi-arid regions of Sindh and Punjab.

The guar seed is spherical, with an average diameter of 8mm. It contains galactomannan, a key component responsible for its thickening, binding, and stabilizing properties, making it a valuable industrial raw material.

Guar, or Cluster Bean, is a drought-resistant annual legume introduced to the United States from India in 1903. Today, India and Pakistan are the primary producers, with smaller cultivation in the USA, Australia, and Africa.

Unlike other legumes, the guar bean has a larger endosperm, rich in galactomannan gum, which forms a thick, viscous gel in cold water. This makes guar gum the primary commercial product of the plant. Additionally, guar is an excellent nitrogen-fixing crop, improving soil fertility.

Processing of Guar Seed:

Our supplier follows a meticulous process to transform guar seeds into refined guar splits, ensuring optimal quality and efficiency.

  • The harvested guar beans undergo dehusking to remove the pods, germ, and hull.
  • The seed is then separated into different components, with the refined split making up 27–30% of the total seed weight.
  • The fibrous content is extracted, and the endosperm is polished to produce high-quality guar splits.
  • These refined splits serve as the primary raw material for manufacturing guar gum powder.

Applications of Guar Gum:

We supply premium guar gum powder, which is extensively used across various industries, including:

  • Food Industry: Used in bakery products, beverages, canned foods, confectionery, cheese, dairy products, gravies, soups, ice creams, and sauces.
